The photos from my day trip to North Berwick on Tuesday came back from the lab (D.S. Colour Labs – highly recommended) this morning. Once again shot on Kodak Portra 160, with my trusty Nikon F3. I had three lenses with me, 28mm, 50mm, and 135mm. I took a couple of shots of the Bass Rock with the 135mm lens, which was the only time the 28 came off.
The light was nice and flat due to the overcast conditions. I quite like that. I like the quiet, almost old fashioned feel of the place too, with its small shops offering traditional sweeties, toys and bric-a-brac. It harks back to a different time. It reminds me of coming here as a kid, on a camping holiday with my Gran and cousins. I’ve taken my own children to the same camp site since, except I opted for a caravan rather than a tent.
