Studying Photography at college, and using the old Pentax K1000 has rekindled my interest in film photography. There’s something about it, the way shots look and feel that is different to digital. Although I do love digital. So I decided to buy an SLR again, and picked up a Pentax ME Super on Ebay, with three lenses, for under £40.
I had one of these previously, but then it wandered into a pawn shop in Edinburgh in 1999, and decided not to come out again. So I was quite familiar with this particular model. I decided to take it for a little street photography test drive in Edinburgh last week. It certainly felt good in hand, but being used to digital it was very different having no idea if you’ve gotten any shots or not, no auto focus, nothing. At the same time it was quite exciting, and certainly something different. I also had to wait a few days before I could develop the film at college, before I would find out if I had anything.
